Job Opportunity

We invite applications for a Junior Project Planner to join our expanding Sydney team. This role suits candidates with a solid background in planning, scheduling, risk management, claims, or cost management who want to broaden their expertise by engaging with complex projects. The position offers exposure to diverse projects in engineering and construction sectors, working alongside experienced consultants and managers.

You will support project planning and scheduling across various projects, contributing to schedule analysis, project controls, and client communications. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, teamwork, ongoing learning, and aims to build a long-term consultancy career in project controls and planning.

Responsibilities

• Assist in creating and updating construction schedules from project documentation.
• Help monitor progress and adjust activities to prevent delays.
• Review and validate external schedules, checking critical paths, logic, and scope.
• Support development of integrated master schedules spanning multiple programs.
• Contribute to cost-loaded and resource-loaded schedule preparation and maintenance.
• Prepare schedule management documentation and basis of schedule reports.
• Assist with design programming, baseline reviews, and shutdown planning.
• Participate in project execution activities as directed by leadership.
• Foster positive relationships with internal and client teams through effective communication.
• Analyze project data and provide insight to aid decision-making.
• Support preparation of client deliverables such as analyses, reports, and outputs.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years post-graduate experience in site engineering, planning, or quantity surveying.
• Experience in project planning within construction, infrastructure, energy, or telecommunications sectors.
• Contract administration experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, Power BI, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate well in team settings.
• Consultancy experience is desirable but not essential.
