Job description
Position Overview
MSM Walsrode invites applications for a full-time, permanent Junior Accountant position at their Bomlitz location within the Finance department. This role involves hands-on accounting responsibilities that contribute to maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with company and legal standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing both subsidiary and general ledgers, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, inventory, and payroll accounting.
- Performing independent entries and validations in the general ledger in close cooperation with the Chief Accountant.
- Proactively controlling, monitoring, and ensuring that booking and reconciliation processes are completed timely and accurately.
- Executing monthly booking and reconciliation procedures and assisting with monthly and annual financial statements.
- Recording and verifying supplier invoices and cost documents.
- Maintaining master data such as payment terms, bank details, and VAT regulations, and resolving discrepancies with suppliers.
- Preparing payment runs and validating VAT-related entries.
- Ensuring compliance with corporate policies and legal regulations.
- Collaborating closely with sales, procurement, and the Chief Accountant to support financial processes.
- Contributing to process improvements, internal audits, and projects within the Shared Service Center context.
- Experience with MS Business Central or Navision is advantageous.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Commercial vocational training specializing in accounting or a comparable qualification.
- Three to five years of relevant professional experience, preferably within an industrial company.
- Operational knowledge of ERP systems, with preference for MS Business Central.
- Excellent communication skills and strong teamwork capabilities.
- Fluency in German and good command of English are desirable.
- Independent and well-organized working style.
