Job Overview
We are looking for a Joint Use Coordinator to provide administrative support for Engineering and Operations related to telecommunications equipment attachments on third-party poles. This role requires managing permits across various pole owners, each with unique protocols, ensuring seamless progress from initiation to closure.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage assigned permits from start to finish, verifying pole ownership and agreements, preparing and submitting permit packages, and ensuring successful closure.
- Navigate and comply with diverse pole owner requirements and submission platforms.
- Maintain up-to-date systems and trackers to reflect current permit statuses clearly.
- Collaborate with engineering teams, field personnel, vendors, and pole owners to resolve delays and maintain schedule adherence.
- Handle Make Ready estimates and notifications, ensuring coordinated advancement of fiber build permits.
- Keep precise records of billing, purchase orders, and vendors associated with projects.
- Identify issues promptly and propose effective solutions.
- Undertake additional projects and duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of two years experience in joint use coordination, telecommunications or utility permitting, or pole attachment work, capable of managing permits independently with minimal onboarding.
- Proficient with permit tracking and pole owner portals such as SiteTracker, Alden One, NJUNS, Katapult, including handling Joint Pole Applications and make ready processes.
- Ability to juggle multiple permits simultaneously, adjust priorities as deadlines change, and maintain meticulous records.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with consistent follow-through.
- Capacity to work independently in a remote environment while reliably contributing as part of a team.
- Availability during standard business hours within Central or Mountain Time zones.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with telecommunications Outside Plant (OSP) work including fiber, copper, small cell, new builds, and relocations.
- Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and the National Electric Safety Code as they relate to joint use.
- Experience in engaging with pole owners, regulatory agencies, and right-of-way permitting processes.

Education & Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; combination of education and relevant experience considered.
- Associate degree in any engineering discipline is advantageous.
- At least two years experience in engineering or utility-related environments.

Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly wage ranges from $25 to $34 based on experience.
