Job description

About the Role

This permanent full-time position allows remote work from home in Western Canada. The role supports Canadian Veterans through the Partners in Canadian Veterans Rehabilitation Services (PCVRS), offering a comprehensive rehabilitation approach focused on biopsychosocial and spiritual perspectives. The interdisciplinary team addresses complex conditions such as chronic pain, head injuries, musculoskeletal injuries, often alongside mental health challenges and psychosocial barriers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee participants' job search activities by providing tailored advice, guidance, and assistance to help overcome challenges during job searching.
  • Analyze regional employment trends and collaborate with Rehabilitation Support Specialists (RSS) to align participants with suitable job opportunities.
  • Strengthen and broaden partnerships with employers and community agencies to build a solid network of placement opportunities enhancing participant outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Job Development peers across various regions to manage and expand national and inter-regional employer connections.
  • Participate in employer forums advocating for the recruitment of Veterans and promoting the advantages of the PCVRS partnership.
  • Design and apply strategies aimed at optimizing the job development processes.
  • Identify and implement innovative improvements to enhance participant experience and job development outcomes.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Completed certificate, diploma, or degree in Business Administration, Sales and Marketing, or Human Resources.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience, which may include job development, employment counseling, or customized employment services.
  • Experience working with individuals facing complex musculoskeletal or mental health conditions.
  • Proven ability to support persons dealing with mental or physical health challenges posing barriers to civilian life.
  • In-depth understanding of the labor market trends within the designated region.
  • High digital proficiency, including familiarity with Case Management Systems, Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, SharePoint, internet navigation, social media platforms, and LinkedIn.
  • Excellent collaborative skills, capable of establishing trustful and effective relationships with various stakeholders to reach mutually beneficial goals.
  • Flexibility to work beyond standard PCVRS hours (8:30 am to 4:30 pm) to maintain communications with employers and participants as necessary.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and readiness to travel for work duties.
  • Employment is contingent upon the achievement of federal Reliability Status security clearance.
