Job Overview

As a Janitor with Farm Boy, you will contribute to maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and inviting atmosphere that define our stores. Your commitment to detail and excellence will ensure a positive experience for both customers and colleagues.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide warm and approachable customer service aligning with Farm Boy's fresh shopping experience standards.
• Greet and assist customers courteously, adhering to Farm Boy’s service guidelines.
• Perform general cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and dusting to keep work and storage areas orderly and safe.
• Maintain cleanliness in shared spaces including break rooms, restrooms, and locker areas.
• Support store operations through inventory monitoring and purchasing of supplies when required.
• Adhere strictly to corporate policies, especially regarding Health & Safety, Food Safety, and correct equipment usage.
• Carry out assigned opening and closing store procedures and provide assistance to team members as needed.
• Take on additional job responsibilities periodically to bolster overall store functions.

Qualifications and Skills

• Strong enthusiasm for delivering excellent customer service.
• Prior janitorial or cleaning experience in a food retail setting is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently with pride in maintaining high cleanliness and detail standards.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills combined with a cooperative, team-focused attitude.
• Capability to handle physically demanding tasks including standing for extended periods, heavy lifting, repetitive motions, and exposure to environmental factors such as noise, dust, and cold conditions.
• Willingness to work variable shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Fluent English communication; knowledge of French is a plus.
