Overview

We are on the lookout for a skilled and motivated IT Field Engineer to join our team supporting crucial clients in Glasgow and Edinburgh. This role focuses on advancing your IT support career by addressing complex technical issues and delivering superior service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 2nd Line Support as the primary troubleshooter at the Service Desk, resolving escalated technical problems efficiently.
  • Apply extensive knowledge of IT hardware, software, networks, servers, and peripherals to diagnose and fix complex incidents.
  • Establish and maintain strong collaborative relationships with client IT departments to facilitate smooth communication and resolution processes.
  • Document all incidents, solutions, and best practices diligently and generate regular reports highlighting patterns, issues, and improvement suggestions.
  • Keep abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve service quality and optimize the IT environment for clients.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a 2nd line IT support capacity, ideally in dynamic environments.
  • Strong expertise with IT systems including hardware components, various software, networking, and servers.
  • Adept problem solver with critical thinking skills capable of managing pressure effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for engaging clients and collaborating with teams.
  • Strong prioritization and multitasking skills to meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Possession of IT certifications such as ITIL, CompTIA, or Microsoft qualifications is a major advantage.
