Role Overview

As an Inventory Buyer supporting multiple warehouses, you will be responsible for procurement tasks such as buying, forecasting, inventory and purchase order management, as well as vendor oversight, including third-party service providers. You will provide procurement insights and collaborate closely with building leadership and local sales teams to enhance operational efficiencies at assigned sites. This remote position requires minimal travel, ideally based in the DC metro area or Nashville, Tennessee.

Main Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Procurement Operations Manager to support purchasing of inventory products, manage inventory levels, handle non-inventory processes, conduct cycle counts, oversee supplier relations, and expedite procurement transactions.
Gain comprehensive knowledge of inventory items and coordinate with similar warehouses to share best practices.
Track and manage key performance indicators such as inventory shrinkage, out-of-stock rates, inventory turnover, new item introduction, and gross profit margins.
Build and maintain relationships across the warehouse network to facilitate sharing and implementation of efficient processes.
Work closely with internal teams including Finance and Procurement Operations to align budgetary goals per location and develop metrics to define savings, value, and category performance.
Partner with both internal stakeholders and suppliers to devise innovative procurement support solutions for the operational network.
Implement supplier performance measurement methods to foster continual improvement.

Basic Qualifications

Minimum 1-2 years experience in supply chain operations.
Strong skills in analytics and mathematics.
Experience managing supplier and vendor relationships.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, including data analysis techniques such as pivots and V-Lookups.
Understanding of process flows with the ability to recommend improvements for cost savings and inventory reduction.
Willingness and ability to travel occasionally to regional warehouses; predominantly remote work.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with NetSuite software.
Background in procurement is desirable.
Self-motivated with a strong customer-focused approach.
Ability to operate effectively despite ambiguity.
Commitment to delivering a positive experience both inside and outside the company.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range between $60,000 and $65,000 annually.
