Overview

True North Fleet Services is seeking a skilled Human Resources Generalist to join their expanding team. This position, based remotely with headquarters in Philadelphia, PA, offers an opportunity to support multiple companies within the organization by delivering high-quality HR services and developing scalable people processes.

Role Summary

The ideal candidate has between 3 to 7 years of HR experience and enjoys a dynamic role that blends employee support, operational tasks, and ongoing process enhancement. You will collaborate closely with business leaders to manage recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, compliance, benefits, and other HR operations, while fostering a positive, people-focused work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a reliable HR resource for employees and managers on policies, process guidance, and best practices.
  • Provide support to managers in employee coaching, performance evaluations, documentation, and resolving conflicts.
  • Drive employee engagement programs that enhance company culture and retention.
  • Ensure confidentiality when managing sensitive personnel information.
  • Coordinate recruitment tasks such as posting jobs, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to facilitate an efficient and positive hiring process.
  • Lead onboarding efforts to ensure smooth integration of new hires.
  • Assist recruiting initiatives during rapid growth phases.
  • Maintain accurate employee data within the HR information system (HRIS).
  • Support benefits management, employee status updates, leave administration, and compliance reporting.
  • Organize annual HR processes including performance reviews, compensation changes, and policy acknowledgments.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment regulations.
  • Work to standardize HR procedures across several operating companies.
  • Identify and implement improvements for operational efficiency through technology, automation, and optimized workflows.
  • Assist in launching new HR programs, policies, and initiatives.
  • Provide HR reporting and analytics to aid leadership decision-making.
  • Collaborate with leadership on special projects related to growth strategies, acquisitions, and organizational development.
  • Support internal communication and employee programming.
  • Contribute to change management efforts as the organization evolves.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related discipline.
  • Three to seven years of experience in human resources, ideally as a generalist or business partner in a multi-location setting.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience in recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and HR administration.
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities with a detailed approach.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification is advantageous.
