Role overview

Innergy Consulting Pte. Ltd. is hiring a seasoned, practical HR Manager to support a global shipping client based in Singapore. Reporting to the Head of HR, this role will help reinforce HR operating processes across Singapore and international offices, while also contributing to regional HR programmes and special projects.

The position will take ownership of HR business partnering coordination for Asia, guiding the Asia HRBP team on governance and regional alignment. It will also work in close collaboration with the Europe HRBP lead to keep HR policies, standards, and practices aligned across regions. In addition, the role will support overseas expansion efforts and help ensure that HR practices remain consistent across different legal jurisdictions where needed.

HR operations and governance

  • Oversee and help standardise employee lifecycle processes across Singapore and overseas locations, with a focus on efficiency, consistency, and compliance.
  • Build stronger HR operating frameworks and improve documentation practices across offices so they align with governance expectations and internal control requirements.
  • Advise on expatriate employment topics such as cross-border mobility, work pass processing, tax implications, and employment law compliance.
  • Assist with the yearly performance appraisal and calibration cycle so that regional offices follow a fair, controlled, and consistent process.
  • Review and align HR policies across jurisdictions while accounting for local legal obligations in each country.
  • Maintain robust HR records, accurate data, and audit-ready processes across regional HR operations.
  • Guide regional HR contacts on policy interpretation, HR operating practices, and governance expectations.
  • Work with regional HR teams and external advisers to ensure compliance with local labour laws and HR operational standards.

Regional business partnering support

  • Advise regional HR representatives on workforce planning, organisational design, employee relations, and HR governance topics.
  • Support hiring governance and manpower planning for regional offices so that staffing decisions match approved headcount plans and business goals.
  • Offer guidance on sensitive employee relations issues and support a consistent risk-management approach across countries.
  • Help roll out HR initiatives created by the Centre of Excellence team by making sure regional teams understand the objectives and requirements.
  • Coordinate implementation across offices and share regional feedback with the CoE to improve programmes.
  • Contribute to capability-building plans for regional offices with Learning & Development, in line with business growth priorities.
  • As the regional HR model develops, gradually take on broader coordination oversight for Asia HR business partnering activities.

Projects and assignments

  • Support initiatives to improve HR systems, with the aim of increasing automation, governance controls, reporting quality, and scalability.
  • Take part in HR transformation, restructuring, integration, or strategic projects as assigned by the General Manager (HR).
  • Assist with HR work related to overseas office setup, expansion, and policy alignment across jurisdictions.
  • Handle other projects, tasks, and ad hoc responsibilities as needed.

Experience and requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in HR project management, HR transformation, or HR operations excellence, preferably gained in an in-house environment.
  • Background in HR operations governance, policy creation, or regional HR frameworks.
  • Experience supporting international office launches, organisational growth, or cross-border HR projects is an advantage.
  • Prior exposure to HR business partnering or advisory work is preferred.
  • Experience working with a multicultural workforce across multiple jurisdictions is preferred.
