Role Responsibilities

  • Deliver support to people with a history of drug and alcohol issues who are abstinent and living in supported housing.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and partner agencies to provide interventions facilitating recovery and independent community living.
  • Work alongside professionals providing psychological therapies to enhance residents' well-being.
  • Ensure the safety of residents and encourage participation in positive and meaningful community activities that aid recovery.
  • Be flexible to work across various sites, including some evening and weekend shifts.

Candidate Profile

This entry-level position welcomes applicants without direct experience, as comprehensive training is provided to enable holistic, person-centered support delivery. Essential qualities include a strong passion for assisting individuals affected by addiction and familiarity with working alongside people with complex needs, such as challenging behaviors, substance misuse, or criminal backgrounds. Preferred qualifications and experiences include:

  • Experience or knowledge in supporting individuals to maintain tenancy within supported housing.
  • Specialist harm reduction background.
  • Experience fostering partnerships and collaboration with external organizations.
  • Qualifications in coaching, counseling, or health and social care.
  • Understanding the negative impacts of drug and alcohol misuse and offending on health, social welfare, housing, employment, and relationships.
