Housekeeper

Overview

The role involves performing various light cleaning tasks necessary to keep the school and student residence environment tidy, safe, and well-organized.

Primary Responsibilities

• Thoroughly clean and disinfect classrooms, student bedrooms, washrooms, common areas, study zones, cafeterias, stairwells, and hallways.
• Wash interior windows, walls, glass surfaces, doors, desks, lockers, and mirrors.
• Sanitize student living quarters, including their furniture, floors, and frequently touched surfaces.
• Preserve classroom cleanliness by maintaining desks, boards, floors, and shared equipment.
• Perform floor care such as damp mopping and machine scrubbing as necessary.
• Vacuum carpeted spaces and carry out carpet extraction when needed.
• Inspect main areas including entrances, lobbies, stairwells, and communal spaces and ensure cleanliness.
• Dispose of garbage and recycling materials from student rooms, classrooms, and general areas.
• Replenish cleaning supplies and notify supervisors about shortages.
• Protect confidentiality of all student and staff information handled.
• Maintain a secure environment using appropriate safety practices, such as wet floor signs and safe cleaning equipment use.
• Follow health and safety protocols along with school policies strictly.
• Immediately report any injuries, hazardous conditions, or maintenance problems to the supervisor.
• Attend to urgent cleaning needs whenever required.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Prior housekeeping experience is advantageous, particularly in schools, residences, healthcare, hotels, or commercial cleaning settings.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to efficiently handle a demanding workload.
• Proficient in verbal and written English communication.
• Capable of understanding and following both verbal and written instructions accurately.
• Physically able to perform job functions, including lifting items up to 20 pounds.
