About the Role
Volt Auto Qatar is recruiting a skilled High Voltage & EV/HEV Technician to join their automotive service department located in Lusail, Qatar. This role focuses on servicing Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV), Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV), and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV), emphasizing expertise in automotive high-voltage systems and adherence to safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, service, and repair electric and hybrid vehicles.
- Conduct fault analysis on high-voltage components including batteries, battery management systems, electric motors, drive units, inverters, converters, on-board chargers, and DC/DC converters.
- Safely isolate, power down, and reactivate high-voltage systems.
- Utilize diagnostic tools such as scanners, multimeters, insulation testers, and specialized EV diagnostic instruments.
- Troubleshoot issues related to electrical systems, electronics, CAN communication, and charging networks.
- Interpret wiring schematics, technical manuals, diagnostic outputs, and error codes to pinpoint problems.
- Perform battery inspections, module-level diagnostics, and approved repairs.
- Strictly follow all safety guidelines and workshop standards for high-voltage work.
- Assist with general electrical diagnostics for modern passenger vehicles when needed.
- Document repair activities and report findings accurately.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years hands-on experience in automotive technical roles, particularly with EV, HEV, or PHEV vehicles.
- Strong practical understanding of automotive high-voltage systems including 400V and 800V architectures.
- Proven skills in diagnostics and troubleshooting complex electrical and electronic faults.
- Experience with OEM or professional-grade diagnostic equipment.
- Solid knowledge of CAN Bus systems, automotive electronics, and electrical wiring diagrams.
- High-voltage safety training or certification is highly desirable.
- Experience with brands from China, Europe, Japan, or Korea is considered advantageous.
- Preferred educational background includes a diploma or degree in Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related fields.
- Good command of English for effective communication.
- Prior experience within GCC countries is beneficial but not required.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates possessing EV/HEV high-voltage system certifications, Level 3 or Level 4 EV qualifications, OEM technical training, or internationally acknowledged certificates will be favored.

The position requires a genuine, hands-on professional who can independently diagnose and repair sophisticated high-voltage, electrical, electronic, battery, charging, and drivetrain faults, ensuring safety and quality workmanship at all times.
