General Labourer - Industrial Carpentry Focus

About the Role

OCL Industrial Services Ltd., part of OCL Group, seeks General Labourers skilled in carpentry to join their field teams engaged in industrial installation, overhaul, maintenance, and turnaround projects. Candidates will contribute to formwork, material handling, site preparation, and grout tasks, collaborating closely with skilled tradespeople to uphold strict quality standards and precision requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces, build formwork, and mix/place epoxy grout for equipment foundations and baseplates
• Assist in constructing site-specific formwork for foundations and structural supports under skilled trades guidance
• Maintain grout documentation meticulously, including recording batch numbers, temperatures, and pouring logs
• Set and level forms and embeds for equipment installation aligned with structural specifications
• Safely handle rigging, material movement, and site preparation tasks following project plans
• Use basic measurement tools such as levels, squares, and tapes in supporting formwork and grout activities
• Engage in safety processes like JSAs, FLHAs, toolbox talks, and comply with OCL and site health and safety standards, ensuring a clean, secure workspace
• Report daily labor hours and material usage (LEM inputs) to supervisors

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Proven industrial setting experience focusing on carpentry or general labor
• Hands-on experience or eagerness to learn epoxy grout application including surface prep, formwork construction, and mixing/placement
• Experience with industrial system formwork (e.g., Doka, Peri) and site-specific formwork concepts
• Competency in rigging, material handling, and using precision measurement tools
• Current safety certifications such as Confined Space, H2S Alive, Fall Protection, and AWP; ability to clear drug and alcohol screening

Preferred (Assets)

• Prior experience in concrete placement, finishing, or general industrial labor
• Background in turnaround/shutdown operations, oil & gas, or heavy industrial/mining sectors
• Ability to read and understand basic structural drawings and blueprints
