Front Store Clerk and Delivery Driver

About the Position

Neighbourly Pharmacy's Pharmasave #428 in Melfort, Saskatchewan, is seeking a dedicated full-time Front Store Clerk and Delivery Driver to become part of their team. This dual-role involves welcoming customers warmly, assisting with various retail tasks, and ensuring prompt and safe delivery of medications and medical supplies throughout the area.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver friendly customer service by greeting visitors and managing inquiries respectfully.
• Operate cash registers, stock and organize store shelves, maintain aisle tidiness, and assist with front-store operations.
• Keep the store clean and orderly, including performing light janitorial work and managing product displays.
• Adhere to store security policies, including those concerning shoplifting and lottery ticket handling.
• Monitor cash amounts, anticipate change needs, and coordinate pickups when required.
• Develop and maintain thorough product knowledge, stay updated on new items, and understand store layout effectively.
• Merchandise products using correct shelf labeling, rotation, and facing techniques.
• Manage specific store sections, reporting out-of-stock items to buyers.
• Support inventory management and reordering efforts.
• Assist with seasonal displays and promotional setups.
• Handle challenging customer interactions tactfully and escalate complaints appropriately.
• Report customer feedback and concerns to management.
• Maintain productivity between customer visits and complete any additional tasks assigned by management.
• Conduct pickups and deliveries of medications and related supplies within the Melfort region.
• Maintain safety and security of all transported goods and perform daily vehicle inspections.
• Keep the company vehicle clean, fueled, and track maintenance using log records.
• Complete necessary delivery paperwork and ensure delivery confirmation.
• Report any vehicle maintenance issues promptly to supervisors.
• Manage the organization and distribution of merchandise efficiently.
• Carry out further duties as assigned by store management.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Proficient in handling cash accurately with strong customer service orientation.
• Ability to stand for long durations and multitask effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Clear and polite communication, accompanied by robust product knowledge.
• Previous experience in merchandising, retail, or cashier roles is advantageous.
• Professional demeanor including appropriate grooming and wearing a name badge.
• Must hold a valid and permanent provincial driving license with a clean driving record over the past three years.
• Provide a driver’s abstract dated within 30 days.
• Maintain safety and integrity of the company vehicle at all times.
• Dependable and trustworthy with a professional attitude.
• Strong organizational skills able to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate efficiently with both customers and team members.
• Capable of following established procedures and guidelines precisely.
• Physical ability to lift and handle large packages.
• Criminal Record Check clearance is mandatory.

Work Schedule

• Regular 40-hour workweek.
• Front-store tasks performed Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., including a lunch break from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
• Delivery duties take place Monday to Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
• Occasional shifts on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. may be required.
