About the Role
Clera is an early-stage AI startup operating in talent and recruiting. The company is hiring a Founding Engineer Intern to join the core team in San Francisco and work closely with the CTO. The role is centered on shipping product improvements every day and helping create an end-to-end agentic system for automated headhunting. It is a high-ownership position with frequent iteration, direct user feedback, and opportunities to spend time in hacker-house environments in Latin America.
What You Will Do
- Work with the CTO to deliver new product features on a daily basis and improve the recruiting workflow from start to finish.
- Take responsibility for features end to end, including ideation, development, and deployment.
- Partner with the founding team to build parts of the agentic AI platform.
- Speak with users and track hiring-speed impact to guide fast product iterations.
- Operate comfortably in a founder-led, high-intensity environment with rapid feedback cycles.
Required Background
- At least 6 months of production experience using React and TypeScript.
- Practical experience with Cursor, Supabase, Prisma, and Typesense in a production React/TypeScript stack.
- A full-stack orientation rather than a narrow ML focus or specialization in a single language such as Python or C++.
- Demonstrated ownership and the ability to move a feature independently from concept to live product.
- Current enrollment in, or pursuit of, a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a similar discipline.
- A standout profile such as a strong GPA, a well-regarded university, notable projects, or an active GitHub presence.
- Previous exposure to entrepreneurial, fast-moving, and scrappy work environments.
- Availability and willingness to work 7 days per week and participate in hacker-house setups in Latin America.
Preferred Profile
Applicants with a portfolio of full-stack work or open-source contributions will be especially well aligned with the role.
Location and Work Setup
This position is based in San Francisco, CA and is expected to be on-site. The role also includes periods spent in hacker-house settings in Latin America. Visa sponsorship is available.
