Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead the accounting department and establish a robust financial foundation to support our ongoing growth. This role extends beyond traditional responsibilities, encompassing oversight of financial reporting, month-end and year-end closing, investor distributions, and mentorship of the accounting team. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with executive leadership to enhance systems, strengthen internal controls, and scale finance functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage month-end and year-end close procedures compliant with GAAP standards.
• Supervise financial reporting for multiple entities and investment funds.
• Ensure precise investor distributions and related financial disclosures.
• Develop scalable accounting processes and implement strong internal controls.
• Collaborate with acquisitions, operations, and executives to deliver financial insights supporting strategic decisions.
• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing accounting team.
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors.
• Continuously optimize systems and workflows as the portfolio expands.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• Over 10 years of progressive leadership experience in accounting.
• Experience in real estate or property management accounting is required.
• In-depth knowledge of GAAP and multi-entity accounting.
• Proven ability to lead accounting teams.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and familiarity with accounting software.

Preferred Skills

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential.
• Experience with property management accounting solutions like Rent Manager.
• Track record in process improvement and accounting system enhancements.
• Understanding of real estate investment structures.

Compensation and Benefits

• Base salary ranging from $120,000 to $145,000 annually, depending on experience.
