Job description
About the Role
The Bureau of Meteorology is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Finance Officer to become part of their team. This role involves delivering financial and administrative assistance to various stakeholders within the bureau as well as external parties.
Responsibilities
- Support customer service-driven finance operations across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Purchasing Card, and Travel Finance sections.
- Assist in adapting to ongoing changes within the Finance division to help drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure best practices in procure-to-pay processes, invoicing customers, and managing as well as reconciling purchasing card activities.
Requirements
- Familiarity with managing financial resources in a Commonwealth government environment.
- Understanding of the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability (PGPA) Act 2013.
- Proficiency with SAP software systems, SAP Concur, and Microsoft Office applications is highly preferable.
