About the Role

Join PwC New Zealand's Finance, Economics and Analytics team within the Consulting division based in Auckland (Tāmaki Makaurau). This role involves applying economic principles alongside financial and commercial insights to support a wide array of industries. You'll collaborate on complex, technical challenges, contributing to the creation of financial models, business cases, feasibility studies, valuations, strategic planning, investment strategies, transaction support, economic evaluations, and other analytical assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist consulting projects by delivering tailored research, financial and economic advice, and industry insights across multiple sectors.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses, develop financial models and forecasts, perform value assessments, analyze economic impacts, and contribute to policy formulation.
  • Employ economic and financial modeling, forecasting, and statistical analysis to generate comprehensive insights.
  • Foster and maintain relationships with a diverse group of internal colleagues and external stakeholders.

Requirements and Skills

  • A minimum of 18 months of experience in corporate, government, or consulting environments, with exposure to diverse industries and a focus on economic, financial, and commercial analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience handling complex financial or economic projects.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
  • Preferred academic qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in finance or economics, with postgraduate qualifications considered advantageous.
  • Strong analytical capabilities paired with a keen interest in understanding clients' businesses and challenges.
  • Effective problem-solving abilities complemented by solid business awareness and strategic thinking.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex concepts clearly.
