Field Activity Support Team Member

Overview

The Field Activity Support Team (FAST) Member plays a crucial role, traveling within an assigned district to independently manage and complete various tasks from start to finish, including executing planograms, assembling merchandise and fixtures, and maintaining signage. This role involves interaction with both customers and team colleagues to deliver outstanding customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain consistent, reliable attendance and adhere to scheduled work hours, which may include variable shifts, nights, and overtime.
• Communicate effectively and regularly with the District FAST Supervisor regarding task completion, challenges, and suggested solutions.
• Accurately complete planograms and store resets in a timely manner while upholding visual merchandising standards.
• Conduct precise store-specific measurements and implement store layout changes.
• Carry out accurate cycle counts and follow the Tractor Way top cap procedures.
• Hang store signage and assemble merchandise, display fixtures, and PDQs.
• Perform detailed recovery actions and review planogram accuracy.
• Deliver exceptional customer service using the GURA approach: Greet customers, Understand their needs, Recommend appropriate products, Add value, and Appreciate customers to ensure a memorable shopping experience.
• Provide additional coverage during peak times such as the day after Thanksgiving.
• Complete other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications and Skills

• Previous experience in retail or merchandising is required. Background knowledge in farming, ranching, pet/equine care, or welding is highly advantageous.
• Must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid driver's license.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory. Literacy and numeracy skills are essential for accurate documentation.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills with the ability to resolve conflicts ethically.
• Basic computer proficiency and the capability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Working Environment and Physical Requirements

• The work environment is generally favorable and indoors with moderate noise.
• Shift durations vary by store, ranging from a minimum of 4 hours up to over 10 hours.
• Travel between store locations using a personal vehicle is necessary, occasionally involving long periods away.
• Must promote safety and adhere to company safety training and protocols for both team members and customers.
• Physical tasks include pushing and pulling merchandise up to 2,000 pounds with equipment, lifting items overhead occasionally, standing, kneeling, twisting, bending, crouching, climbing ladders frequently, and moving merchandise up to 50 pounds throughout the store.
• Ability to operate store equipment such as cash registers, computers, forklifts, dollies, handtrucks, and balers (the latter two not applicable if under 18 years).
• Capacity to work efficiently throughout the store and outdoor premises for an entire shift with required physical stamina.
• Exposure to birds/poultry is part of the role and must be handled safely.
