Role Summary

We are looking for skilled Estimators to join our high-performing project teams based in Dublin or Limerick. This role involves working on significant, high-profile projects for prestigious clients in a dynamic and stimulating environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare comprehensive and precise cost estimates by evaluating drawings, specifications, and tender documentation.
  • Identify risks, opportunities, and discrepancies within tender documents to enhance commercial benefit.
  • Procure competitive quotations from subcontractors and suppliers while maintaining an up-to-date cost database.
  • Assess subcontractor and supplier bids, conducting risk assessments and exploring value engineering options.
  • Collaborate with Quantity Surveyors during pre-contract discussions.
  • Coordinate with the Chief Estimator and senior management regarding contractual matters, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  • Work closely with commercial and project teams to finalize budgets before project handover.
  • Manage preliminary budgets throughout tender phases.
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with clients during tender and negotiation phases.
  • Compile and analyze cost data and benchmarking reports.
  • Build and maintain long-term partnerships with key suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Stay abreast of market trends, pricing changes, and pertinent regulatory or industry developments.
  • Ensure all tender activities conform to company policies, governance standards, and contract requirements.

Candidate Requirements

  • Possess a third-level qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
  • Have a minimum of three years' experience in estimating or commercial roles within the construction industry.
  • Demonstrate solid knowledge of construction methods and current labor, plant, and material costs.
  • Show strong commercial acumen with excellent numerical and analytical capabilities.
  • Be proficient in analyzing and interpreting data.
  • Work well within team environments.
  • Exhibit outstanding communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Maintain high organization and attention to detail to manage tender documentation effectively.
  • Perform well under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Apply a methodical and proactive problem-solving approach.
  • Be resilient and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
