About the Role

Reporting directly to the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be instrumental in securing upcoming projects by producing precise and competitive tender estimates. Collaborating closely with Quantity Surveyors, Project Managers, and on-site teams, your efforts will help shape tender approaches, identify project risks and opportunities, and uphold the exceptional standards associated with DML Construction.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates and cost plans for commercial construction endeavors.
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and tender documentation carefully.
• Perform quantity take-offs accurately.
• Source and assess quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Review project scopes, exclusions, and commercial risks thoroughly.
• Compile comprehensive tender submissions along with supporting materials.
• Assist in transitioning tenders to the project delivery teams.
• Maintain and update estimating databases, including labor allowances and historical cost records.
• Propose improvements to estimating methodologies and tender procedures.

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience in estimating for commercial construction projects.
• Strong grasp of construction techniques and sequencing.
• Adept at recognizing risks, opportunities, and potential pricing discrepancies.
• Sharp analytical abilities coupled with effective negotiation skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills with an ability to build relationships.
• Comfortable with Microsoft Excel and estimating software (experience with RAVE is a plus but not mandatory).
