Job Overview

Our client, a specialist company in their sector, is seeking an Estimator for a permanent role in Consett, England. This position is ideal for candidates with prior experience in estimating within a machining environment.

Role and Responsibilities

• Report directly to the Sales Director while supporting an active production team.
• Use machining background to estimate task times accurately within a machine shop setting.
• Calculate job costs utilizing the company's ERP software, EFACS.
• Interpret sketches and drawings to determine the duration of tasks performed in a conventional machine shop.
• Source prices for materials and subcontracted work.
• Analyze detailed repair plans to estimate costs for service or repair jobs.
• Compile all cost elements into comprehensive repair quotations and prepare draft quotes for customers.
• Maintain calculation records in a dedicated database and leverage this information to enhance operational efficiency.

Candidate Profile

• Strong dedication to maintaining quality, controlling costs, and ensuring timely delivery.
• Meticulous and adaptable approach in all responsibilities.
• Proficient user of Excel, Word, and experienced with ERP systems.
• Capable of working effectively within a small, multi-disciplinary team.
• Possesses a Mechanical Engineering background.

Benefits and Working Conditions

• Salary is negotiable based on candidate experience.
• Working hours: 37 hours per week - Monday to Thursday 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Friday 7:30 am to 12:30 pm.
• Annual leave: 25 days plus bank holidays.
