Engineer in Landscape Planning and Construction (m/f/d)

About the Role

This position involves detailed landscape conservation planning for construction projects related to federal and state roads as well as bicycle paths. The role includes managing contract awards, overseeing contracts, and providing technical supervision and coordination of services carried out by engineering firms. It also involves contributing specialist landscape conservation inputs such as landscape planning, species protection, and habitat regulations for minor approval procedures. The incumbent must coordinate project plans with relevant public authorities, municipalities, and associations.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement landscape conservation plans for construction measures on federal and state roads and bike paths.
• Manage procurement processes, contract execution, and supervise work performed by engineering consultancies.
• Prepare landscape conservation technical contributions including species protection and habitat directives for smaller permit processes.
• Coordinate planning activities with stakeholders such as specialist authorities, communities, and associations.
• Oversee project execution of landscape conservation initiatives including construction preparation, procurement procedures, site management, and billing.
• Develop maintenance concepts for compensation and green areas alongside roads.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Relevant academic degree (Dipl.-Ing. (FH), B.Eng., B.Sc.) in landscape management, landscape architecture, landscape planning, landscape ecology, landscape construction, or a comparable field.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency with standard computer applications including MS Office.
• Class B driver's license for car operation.
• Beneficial: Experience in project management or planning and realization of landscape conservation projects.
• Familiarity with procurement and construction contract laws and negotiation skills.
• Solid professional and legal knowledge regarding impact mitigation regulation, species and nature protection.
• Ability to work independently with strong organizational skills, resilience, assertiveness, and excellent communication and teamwork capabilities.
