Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented EDI Assistant Manager to join our operations team in Te Puna. Reporting directly to the EDI Manager, this role is integral to managing Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) processes and supporting the EDI/EAN team to ensure precise and timely data flow from the packhouse to Zespri. The position entails leadership responsibilities for EDI/EAN Operators and requires collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accuracy and timeliness of data entry from the packhouse system into Zespri.
• Lead, train, and support a team of EDI/EAN Operators to uphold procedural compliance and data quality.
• Ensure all product packs are correctly barcoded with accurate grower, size, and variety information.
• Provide operational support to shipping and site teams as needed to fulfil business requirements.
• Collaborate regularly with internal departments including Inventory, Logistics, Site Management, Harvest Coordination, and Quality Control, as well as external partners like Zespri, AVOCO, and Yieldia to resolve data discrepancies.
• Assist the EDI Manager with improvement projects and ongoing initiatives.
• Comply with all Health & Safety policies and internal company procedures at the workplace.

Candidate Profile

• Demonstrated experience with data management, inventory systems, or EDI operations.
• Proven leadership capabilities in training, supervising, and motivating small teams.
• Strong skills in planning, prioritizing tasks, and managing time effectively, especially during busy harvest seasons.
• Excellent communication skills complemented by a collaborative attitude.
• High attention to detail in data entry and maintenance of accurate records.
• A flexible, self-driven, and solution-focused mindset.
• Positive, energetic, and enthusiastic demeanor.
• Willingness to work flexible hours during the harvest period, typically March through June.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity or experience working in the kiwifruit or avocado industry.
• A tertiary qualification in business management or a related discipline.
• Knowledge of EDI software tools, Radfords systems, or inventory management platforms.
