Position Overview

This executive leadership role oversees the division’s overall success, responsible for strategy, operations, and achieving financial and performance objectives. The Division President directs all functional areas—land acquisition, development, construction, sales, purchasing, finance, and customer experience—to drive growth, profitability, and market positioning in alignment with corporate goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and guide division operations across all departments to meet business plans and financial targets.
  • Develop and implement annual and long-term strategic and financial plans aimed at revenue and market share expansion.
  • Track divisional KPIs such as profit margins, cycle times, customer satisfaction, and asset returns; initiate corrective measures when necessary.
  • Manage land acquisition strategies, project pipelines, and approvals to ensure sustainable growth.
  • Ensure excellence in construction and development, focusing on scheduling, cost management, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with corporate leadership for alignment and regularly report on divisional performance, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Establish effective organizational structures with attention to talent acquisition, development, performance, and succession.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including developers, trade partners, government bodies, and industry groups.
  • Represent the division externally to enhance brand presence and support business growth.

Qualifications and Experience

  • At least 10 years of advancing leadership experience in homebuilding, with significant senior leadership roles.
  • Proven expertise managing multiple departments such as land, construction, sales, finance, and purchasing.
  • Experience leading a division or large business unit with comprehensive P&L responsibility.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Construction Management, or related fields is preferred.

  • Exceptional leadership and organizational capabilities managing cross-functional teams.
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and business planning.
  • Strategic planning abilities fostering growth and operational efficiency.
  • Deep knowledge of homebuilding lifecycle phases including land acquisition and construction.
  • Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills in complex environments.
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication to engage executives and stakeholders.
  • Capacity to develop high-performance teams and leadership pipelines.
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder relationship management skills.
  • Result-oriented mindset emphasizing accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Awareness of regulatory, compliance, and market factors in homebuilding.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

The role combines office work and active field presence at construction sites and communities, requiring frequent travel across the division and occasional trips to corporate locations. Expect a dynamic, fast-paced environment with evolving priorities.

  • Ability to remain seated for extended periods during meetings and desk work.
  • Frequent travel by car or air to various locations.
  • Capability to walk, stand, and navigate construction and community sites safely.
  • Proficient communication skills for presentations and discussions.
  • Occasional lifting or carrying of light materials, such as laptops and documents.

Additional Information

  • This position includes an automobile allowance; candidates must hold a valid driver’s license, personal vehicle, and insurance complying with company policies. Proof of insurance is required prior to employment.
