About the Role

New Media seeks a dedicated, innovative digital editor and website manager to help establish and expand a new national news brand. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily publishing activities, shaping the editorial voice, and ensuring a steady flow of exceptional content that captivates the audience.

Key Responsibilities

• Prioritize and select stories and articles for homepage featuring and promotion.
• Create engaging headlines, summaries, and promotional text for videos and written content.
• Maintain a unified editorial tone across the website and linked channels.
• Edit and proofread submissions from both internal staff and external contributors.
• Oversee publishing schedules and content calendars to maintain an organized editorial rhythm.
• Collaborate with producers, editors, and senior leadership to coordinate publishing priorities across various platforms.
• Analyze audience trends to uncover opportunities for enhancing engagement and growth.
• Contribute to the development of innovative editorial formats, workflows, and projects to broaden brand impact.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years' professional experience in writing, editing, or journalism.
• At least three years’ experience in digital publishing, adept with CMS and editorial workflow management.
• Outstanding skills in copy editing and crafting impactful headlines.
• Sound editorial judgment with exposure to national news coverage or engagement.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the current news environment and audience preferences.
• Proficiency with web analytics, SEO best practices, and digital publishing tools to enhance content visibility and audience interaction.
• Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced setting and adapt to breaking news situations.
• A genuine commitment to national news' mission and respectful, thoughtful engagement across diverse viewpoints.

Additional Information

This is a long-term part-time contract position based onsite in the United States. The role offers a daily remuneration ranging from $450 to $550.
