Data Scientist - Banking, Python, and AI

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled data professional with expertise in artificial intelligence who is eager to contribute to innovative efforts within equity markets. This position involves collaborating with a leading financial client to advance AI-driven data intelligence projects in Capital Markets, primarily utilizing large-scale datasets in the Azure Databricks environment to identify prospects, construct AI use cases, and provide actionable business insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze extensive datasets using Azure Databricks to uncover trends, insights, and opportunities relevant to business objectives.
• Assist in creating and enhancing AI and generative AI use cases tailored to equity markets.
• Employ Python for data preparation, cleansing, transformation, and analysis aligned with AI needs.
• Engage with business stakeholders to translate their process improvement opportunities into AI solutions.
• Conduct research and synthesize information via AI-powered tools and methodologies.
• Prepare data and workflow pipelines that support large language models and other AI frameworks.
• Interpret complex data sets to extract actionable insights and communicate results effectively.
• Facilitate experimentation with AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot Studio and LangChain or similar platforms.
• Work alongside data engineers and technology teams to optimize the use of Azure Databricks as the core enterprise data platform.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Between three and five years of experience in data analytics, BI, or data science roles.
• Proficient in Python and SQL with demonstrated data manipulation capabilities.
• Skilled at extracting meaningful insights from voluminous datasets.
• Experience supporting AI, machine learning, or generative AI projects.
• Comfortable working with Azure Databricks preferred.
• Possessing a strong analytical mindset capable of bridging business needs with technical AI solutions.
• Educational background in quantitative fields such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Economics, Physics, or Business.

Desirable Extras

• Familiarity with generative AI technologies including Microsoft Copilot Studio, LangChain, and other LLM/AI frameworks.
• Prior professional experience as a data scientist.
• Competence in Power BI for data visualization.
• Experience in C# programming.
• Exposure to Capital or Equity Markets.
