Custodian

Position Summary

This role involves maintaining cleanliness and upkeep of the facility's buildings, yard, and docks to ensure a clean and appealing working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Vacuum, sweep, mop, and dust the entire office space
• Manage trash removal regularly
• Keep restrooms clean and sanitary
• Perform general upkeep of the yard, including trash collection, lawn mowing, and garden maintenance
• Maintain parking lot cleanliness by keeping it free from litter
• Clean loading docks and surrounding apron areas
• Carry out minor building repairs and paint touch-ups as needed
• Replace light bulbs in office and dock areas
• Change air conditioning filters periodically
• Adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies
• Complete other assigned tasks as necessary

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Proficiency in cleaning methods and floor buffing techniques
• Professional demeanor in interactions with coworkers and customers
• Strong organizational skills
• Basic communication skills, both verbal and written
• Physical ability to bend, twist, squat, and operate custodial equipment throughout the shift
• Awareness of chemical usage and handling
• Ability to follow instructions and complete designated training programs
• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team

Working Conditions

• Must be able to stand or walk for up to eight hours and perform consistent light lifting
• Exposure to outdoor weather conditions typical for the region
• Contact with hot or cold soapy water, various chemicals, dust, tobacco residue, or other irritants
• Work hours can vary based on operational requirements

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this position is $18.19.
