Job description

Role Overview

The Cultivation Technician works under the supervision of the Cultivation Lead, supporting all operational aspects within the cultivation area. This role requires strong knowledge and skills in plant cultivation, particularly cannabis, and a willingness to continually learn. The technician is responsible for designated operational tasks and reports directly to the Cultivation Lead and Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Cultivation Lead and Manager in achieving production targets and maintaining quality standards.
  • Perform activities such as watering plants, applying foliar treatments for pest and mold control using Integrated Pest Management (IPM) techniques, manicuring plants, cleaning grow spaces, propagating through cloning, transplanting, moving plants along the production cycle, harvesting, and data recording.
  • Coordinate with Team Leads and provide support in other cultivation areas when daily tasks permit.
  • Engage in operations across various cultivation zones including indoor and greenhouse cultivation, IPM, drying/curing, quality control, packaging, and inventory management.
  • Ensure plant health throughout the cultivation stages.
  • Follow established good agricultural practices (GAP).
  • Maintain accurate records, inventories, and other necessary data.
  • Participate in recruitment processes, training, staff development, and performance management.
  • Evaluate employee productivity and recommend salary adjustments.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma; Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, or related field preferred.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency and knowledge of the cannabis plant are mandatory.
  • Experience in horticulture, plant science, manufacturing, or business administration with a focus on operations or production environments preferred (3-5 years).
  • Ability to work independently without supervision.
  • Understanding and compliance with regulations and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in specialized cultivation areas.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Must successfully pass a Level II background check.
  • Must be 21 years or older.
