Overview
We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to lead contract administration across several extensive infrastructure project sites. The role demands oversight of contractual obligations, risk management, claims handling, compliance, and stakeholder coordination to ensure seamless project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee contracts across multiple large-scale project locations, ensuring adherence to all terms and deliverables.
- Draft, review, and respond to formal contractual communications to safeguard company interests and maintain timely exchanges.
- Identify contractual and project execution risks, formulate mitigation plans, and provide proactive advice to minimize claim and dispute exposure.
- Lead the preparation and negotiation of claims, variations, and requests for time extensions, ensuring they are thoroughly substantiated and aligned with contract rights.
- Ensure project operations comply with contract provisions, local regulations, and company policies, including securing necessary client and authority approvals.
- Manage dispute resolution efforts through negotiation, mediation, or formal proceedings to avoid costly conflict escalations.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, subcontractors, consultants, and clients to harmonize commercial and contractual issues.
- Provide leadership and guidance to contract administrators and commercial personnel across sites, fostering best practices and continuous improvement.
- Oversee Cost-Plus contract administration, including cost monitoring, payment processes, and transparency in reimbursable expenses.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related fields.
- Chartered professional membership or equivalent certification (MRICS, MCIOB, CIArb) is strongly preferred.
- At least 15 years of experience in contracts and commercial management, preferably on multiple large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Direct experience with major roads, infrastructure, and drainage projects is essential.
- Familiarity with the Public Works Authority (PWA / Ashghal) of Qatar is a significant advantage.
- Well-versed in Cost-Plus, Lump Sum, and other prevalent construction contract types.
