Job Overview
Higgins seeks a seasoned Contract Manager to oversee Road Maintenance operations in Hawke's Bay. This pivotal leadership position demands comprehensive management of commercial, operational, and personnel aspects of the contract, emphasizing safety, quality standards, stakeholder engagement, and sustainable business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all facets of maintenance including commercial outcomes, operational execution, health and safety, workforce resourcing, and team leadership.
- Ensure achievement of Key Result Areas (KRAs) and Operational Performance Measures (OPMs).
- Develop and execute Contract Plans that promote performance enhancement and continuous improvement.
- Establish and nurture strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, suppliers, and community members.
- Drive strategic profitable growth aligned with Higgins' corporate values and objectives.
- Collaborate across the wider Higgins organization to support overall business success.
- Elevate the company’s market reputation and foster capability development within the team.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in roading, maintenance, and civil infrastructure sectors.
- Proven ability managing complex contracts or business operations within civil construction.
- Strong expertise in commercial and financial management including profit and loss accountability.
- Outstanding leadership skills with a capacity to inspire, support, and develop team members.
- Capability to adapt to evolving commercial environments and apply practical solutions promptly.
- Proactive mindset, robust business acumen, and result-oriented approach.
- Excellent skills in stakeholder management and influence at multiple organizational levels.
