About the Role
Based in New Forest, Minstead, Poole, this permanent full-time position offers a salary range from £40,525 to £48,427, complemented by a variety of benefits designed to support family life, financial wellbeing, and health. As a Contract Liaison Officer supporting the capital programme in the Wessex region, you will play an active role on-site, collaborating directly with contractors to ensure work is conducted safely, efficiently, and adheres to Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) quality standards. You will help maintain project momentum, promptly address challenges, and foster strong partnerships with contract teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise contractor-executed maintenance and replacement initiatives, ensuring timely completion while maintaining SSEN’s safety and quality standards.
- Conduct quality inspections and validate completed work, verifying accuracy of records and financial claims.
- Perform site surveys and develop detailed plans, maps, and project documentation to benefit current and upcoming projects.
- Handle operational site matters such as customer feedback, land access permissions, and the availability of materials.
- Encourage and uphold a robust safety culture through regular site inspections, safety discussions, and audits, consistently modeling best practices.
Candidate Profile
- Possess practical experience or strong knowledge of electricity distribution networks, including overhead lines, substations, or related infrastructure projects.
- A proactive problem-solver who takes ownership and challenges existing procedures to enhance safety and efficiency.
- Excellent communication abilities, comfortable engaging with personnel from ground-level operatives to senior management.
- Strong organizational capabilities to juggle multiple priorities and tasks effectively.
- Proficient with information technology, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel, to accurately document project data, compile reports, and manage snagging and defect registers.
