Overview
A well-established national construction contractor is hiring an experienced Contracts Administrator to support delivery of a major Canberra project. Role summary
In this position, you will manage the commercial and contractual side of a major construction project from delivery through to close-out. You will work closely with project and commercial colleagues to keep contracts, documentation, reporting, and project administration running smoothly.
Key duties
- Oversee subcontractor and supplier agreements, including variations, claims, and related correspondence.
- Support procurement activity and help ensure contractual obligations are satisfied.
- Administer variation processes for both head contracts and subcontracts.
- Assist with subcontractor progress claims and contract compliance tasks.
- Maintain records for contract documents, defects, manuals, and project completion activities.
- Prepare monthly financial reporting, including cost reports and forecasts.
- Track commercial risk and contribute to final contract settlement work.
- Work collaboratively with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to drive project outcomes.
Requirements
- A completed qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a closely related field.
- Between 3 and 6 years of experience as a Contracts Administrator in commercial construction.
- Solid knowledge of contract administration, procurement, and project financial control.
- Background on large building projects with a head contractor.
- Exposure to construction systems such as CHEOPS, Aconex, or comparable platforms.
- Strong planning and prioritisation skills.
- Clear communication and confident stakeholder management.
- A proactive, practical mindset and the ability to contribute effectively within a project team.
