About the Role

You will join the Strategy, Risk & Transactions - Advisory - Financial Risk team, supporting financial institutions to better manage credit risk. This role merges deep technical expertise, industry knowledge, and regulatory insight to create impactful solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply your academic background in developing and deploying credit risk models such as rating models, portfolio risk models, and early warning systems.
  • Engage in validation and testing of credit risk models, including applied machine learning and text mining techniques within credit risk workflows.
  • Propose innovative ideas to enhance client processes and improve Deloitte’s tools and offerings.
  • Contribute to business development by identifying new market opportunities, supporting client acquisition, and assisting proposal preparations.
  • Participate actively in product innovation efforts, bringing concepts from development to market readiness.

Candidate Profile

  • Degree in economics, (business) computer science, (business) engineering, (business) mathematics, or related field.
  • Preferably some initial experience or solid understanding of banking, risk management, supervisory regulations, and credit processes.
  • Strong statistical knowledge in areas such as linear and logistic regression or machine learning for estimating risk parameters (PD, LGD, CCF) aligned with Basel II-IV or IFRS 9 frameworks.
  • Good IT skills, including familiarity with scripting or programming languages like Python, R, SAS, and relational databases (SQL).
  • High motivation, strong teamwork spirit, quick learning ability, and enjoyment of challenging projects.
  • Willingness to travel and communicate effectively in German and English, both spoken and written.
