Role Overview
Based at our Te Rapa office in Hamilton, this full-time position offers a hybrid working schedule: three days in-office and two days remote, with some flexibility and occasional weekend duties. The Competitions Manager will oversee Senior and Youth football draws, while also supervising a team responsible for Junior and Futsal draws.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for organizing Senior and Youth football draws from start to finish.
- Comprehend, uphold, and clearly convey league regulations to participating clubs.
- Manage match results and administer formal dispute resolution processes.
- Lead and support a team of two staff members handling Junior and Futsal draws.
- Engage collaboratively with clubs and schools to resolve competition-related issues effectively.
- Maintain up-to-date national registration and reporting systems.
- Act as a representative for WaiBOP Football liaising with clubs, referees, New Zealand Football, and regional federations.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in creating sports competition draws, preferably in football.
- Strong analytical abilities paired with decisive judgment skills.
- Systematic and process-oriented in task execution.
- Confident and clear communication, adept at managing diverse viewpoints.
- Familiarity with league rules or a demonstrated capability to quickly learn them.
- Experience with the Sporty platform is highly advantageous.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in managing staff.
- Ability to maintain composure and effectively handle pressure.
About WaiBOP Football
WaiBOP Football oversees football and futsal activities across Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions, partnering with nearly 90 clubs and schools. It manages over 100 leagues played on 600 pitches, facilitating upwards of 10,000 matches annually.
