About the Role and Team

The Community Facilities Maintenance Planner position, based in Bundall, Queensland, is integral to enhancing the upkeep and operational efficiency of the City's diverse community assets. Connected to the Infrastructure Lifecycle Planning and Performance branch, the Maintenance Planning and Specification team focuses on optimizing asset reliability and lifecycle value through tactical maintenance planning, strategy development, asset monitoring, and analytical insights aiding decision-making.

This role centers on providing strategic leadership in analyzing maintenance data across community assets to forecast trends and inform long-term maintenance strategies, ensuring alignment with asset lifecycle goals and community service expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze maintenance performance, asset conditions, and lifecycle data to uncover patterns, identify risks, and highlight improvement potential.
  • Create and update reporting structures, performance metrics, and data visualizations to support strategic decisions.
  • Deliver evidence-based recommendations aimed at enhancing maintenance programs, asset reliability, and lifecycle value while guiding expenditure decisions.
  • Assist tactical maintenance planning via predictive analytics, modeling, and performance forecasting.
  • Continuously monitor service levels, asset outcomes, and maintenance performance to shape future strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate across departments including Asset Management and maintenance teams to foster continuous improvement.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance data quality, reporting functions, and operational procedures within maintenance activities.
  • Provide technical leadership and strategic advice on data-driven asset performance and maintenance initiatives for team members and stakeholders.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

  • Substantial experience in facilities management, asset management, or maintenance planning.
  • Proficient with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), asset management software, or related enterprise platforms.
  • Skilled in interpreting complex maintenance and asset data to generate actionable insights and support evidence-based strategies.
  • Expertise in performance reporting, forecasting, predictive modeling, and informed decision-making within maintenance or asset management contexts.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and enterprise asset management tools, including complex functions, modeling, data visualization, and automated reporting.
  • Ability to design and deliver clear reports, metrics, and initiatives influencing both operational and strategic levels.
  • Strong written and verbal communication aptitude to present complex concepts and influence diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven track record in recommending and implementing improvement initiatives that produce quantifiable performance gains.
  • Capable of managing priorities effectively within complex operational settings.
  • Solid understanding of asset management principles, maintenance lifecycle planning, and performance-based decision-making.
  • Leadership experience, including mentoring or technical guidance to teams, is advantageous.
  • Cert III Trade Qualification is favorable but not mandatory.
  • Valid Australian Driver’s Licence Class C Unrestricted.
  • Familiarity with building maintenance safety regulations, codes, and standards.
