Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, and service CNC machines at customer locations.
- Respond promptly to machine breakdowns, diagnosing root causes of failures.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and CNC control issues.
- Operate and repair machines using Fanuc, Siemens, and Mitsubishi CNC controllers.
- Perform machine reference checks, zero returns, and parameter troubleshooting.
- Resolve issues related to servo motors, spindles, drives, encoders, and sensors.
- Interpret and troubleshoot CNC alarms and error alerts.
- Conduct axis alignment, assembly/disassembly, and mechanical problem-solving.
- Maintain components such as ball screws, linear guides, couplings, bearings, and lubrication systems.
- Assist with spindle troubleshooting and upkeep.
- Assess machine accuracy, positioning, repeatability, vibrations, noise, backlash, and machining defects.
- Perform preventive maintenance and machine health inspections.
- Support leveling, geometry verification, and enhance machine precision.
- Read and work with electrical schematics, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and CNC diagrams.
- Handle customer complaints professionally and provide timely solutions.
- Document service activities including breakdown and preventive maintenance reports.
- Collaborate with senior engineers for complex technical issues.
- Communicate effectively with clients on-site.
- Travel across Bangalore, Karnataka, and various parts of India as needed.
Technical Expertise
- Proficiency or strong interest in CNC control systems: Fanuc, Siemens, Mitsubishi.
- Experience with CNC machine types: Vertical Machining Centres (VMC), Horizontal Machining Centres (HMC), Turning/VTL, and Boring Machines.
- Mechanical skills involving axis assembly and dismantling, ball screws, linear guides, couplings, bearings, lubrication, and spindle systems.
- Electrical knowledge covering servo motors/drives, spindle drives, encoders, limit and proximity sensors, electrical panels, relays, contactors, and wiring diagrams.
- CNC alarm interpretation and basic parameter troubleshooting abilities.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
- Strong technical aptitude and enthusiasm for CNC machines.
- Logical problem-solving skills for fault detection and resolution.
- Comfort with both electrical and mechanical system aspects.
- Willingness to work onsite and travel extensively.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Self-driven with eagerness to advance in CNC technology.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a technical team.
- Required educational qualifications: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Preference given to candidates with real-world CNC service, commissioning, or maintenance experience.
