Claims Associate

Position Overview

This role involves ensuring accurate credit is obtained from all vendor partners and controlling inventory by adhering to proper merchandise handling procedures as outlined by company policies. Exceptional customer service is expected for vendor partners, fellow associates, and customers present on the sales floor.

Key Responsibilities

• Support shrink prevention measures by timely scanning of all damaged and stolen merchandise.
• Manage current returns, vendor return requests (RA), recalls, and associated paperwork, ensuring timely completion within company deadlines. Also handle SORT and Global Donation merchandise.
• Consistently enforce safety protocols such as correct chemical disposal, maintaining a clean and hazard-free claims area, and ensuring proper ladder and lifting technique usage.
• Oversee merchandise returns through claims, safeguarding assets by applying proper processes to minimize shrink and chargebacks. Record and monitor returns and shrink recovery within the store.
• Stay informed and comply with updated company policies and procedures related to handling damaged and recalled merchandise, ensuring continuous implementation of new store programs and systems.
• Ensure adherence to the Return Manual by keeping claims up to date, minimizing chargebacks, and completing Vendor Return Request Forms for claims older than 45 days.
• Complete all GM Customer Value Program (CVP) tasks.
• Provide support to Office Support Associate (OSA) and Direct Store Delivery Associate as needed.

Compensation

The starting pay rate for this position is $18.55 per hour.

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
