Overview
Join a leading global engineering firm dedicated to delivering impactful infrastructure solutions across the UK and Ireland. This role offers the chance to work on a variety of public and private sector projects including highways, drainage, flood protection, earthworks, and service coordination within residential, commercial, and industrial developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams to produce construction designs and drawings supporting masterplanning and planning applications.
- Engage actively with multiple projects and clients simultaneously, reporting directly to an Associate Director.
- Lead design efforts for planning applications and construction documentation.
- Provide mentorship and management to junior engineers to maintain high technical standards.
- Support project management activities for concept studies and delivery strategies leading to planning applications or construction phases.
Candidate Profile
- Holds a degree in civil engineering and is progressing towards Chartered Engineer status, with focus on highway and highway drainage design.
- Possesses postgraduate experience within civil engineering environments.
- Skilled in preparing masterplans, site appraisals, technical reports, design calculations, and construction drawings.
- Proficient in highway design methodologies, drainage principles including surface water and foul drainage layouts.
- Experienced with drainage software tools such as Windes, and modeling tools like PDS or Civils 3D.
- Familiar with Highways England and Local Authority design standards and guidelines.
- Knowledgeable in design codes like DMRB and experienced in producing drawings for S38 and S278 Highway Agreements, alongside S106 Drainage Agreements.
- Background in consultancy or development sectors handling both private and public projects.
- Demonstrates capability to contribute to concept studies and hands-on design activities leading to planning or construction deliverables.
- Committed to guiding junior team members in technical output quality.
