Job description
About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and self-assured Career Information Advice and Guidance (CIAG) Adviser to support individuals serving custodial sentences in their journey toward employment and training opportunities upon release. This role offers a meaningful chance to aid in breaking the cycle of reoffending and positively influencing both individuals and the wider community.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with offenders in custody to connect them with learning, training, and employment pathways.
- Work closely to prepare individuals for life post-release with tailored advice and support.
- Meet individual targets in line with contract standards and quality compliance requirements.
Candidate Profile
- Confident and proactive in approach, demonstrating strong communication skills with a respectful, non-judgmental attitude.
- Comfortable managing data on databases with meticulous attention to detail.
- Preferably experienced in assisting offenders or vulnerable groups to make positive life changes.
- Able to work effectively within a prison setting while embracing contract quality standards.
- Holds or is interested in obtaining a Level 4 (or above) qualification in Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG).
Additional Information
The position entails a standard 35-hour workweek with flexitime options allowing for compensatory time off when extra hours are worked. Comprehensive training and supportive team culture are provided to ensure a smooth transition into the role.
