Chief Technology Officer

Role Overview

This senior technology leadership position is offered by Human in Residence to lead a significant technology transformation for one of the largest companies in the GCC region. The role places you as the embedded Chief Technology Officer on the client site with full authority and responsibility to drive execution where strategy and budget are already in place.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee migration from legacy ERP to Microsoft Dynamics 365, including vendor selection and management to ensure project scope, quality, and deadlines are met.
• Revitalize a licensed but underutilized CRM platform across multiple countries to secure sustained adoption.
• Design and implement integration across ERP, CRM, POS, warehouse systems, and a new cloud-based data platform.
• Establish a robust data infrastructure foundational to the organization's future technology initiatives including AI developments.
• Assess and enhance the skills of current technology teams while maintaining ongoing operations.
• Provide regular reports to transformation leadership and collaborate closely with the CEO and executive leadership.

Professional Requirements and Experience

• 12+ years in technology roles with a strong foundation in engineering or architecture, demonstrating hands-on involvement in system deployments.
• Proven experience leading full-cycle implementations of core system replacements through to adoption.
• Expertise with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations or equivalent tier-one ERP systems, with ability to quickly deepen knowledge of D365.
• Strong familiarity with enterprise CRM systems like Salesforce focused on user adoption and process excellence.
• Experience with modern cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, including data pipeline and master data management through migrations.
• Competence in enterprise integration technologies like APIs and middleware, with an emphasis on simplicity in architecture.
• Skilled in managing external vendors and system integrators commercially and technically.
• Experience delivering technology transformations within large enterprises or large SMEs, particularly in GCC markets, understanding cultural and business practices.
• Familiarity with retail or FMCG sectors preferred; hands-on, pragmatic leadership style valued over formal presentations.
• Based in or willing to relocate to Dubai with readiness for frequent regional travel.

This is a multi-year engagement employed by Human in Residence, with a competitive remuneration package and real authority over budgets. A clear career progression path exists towards a permanent CTO role within the client organization following successful delivery. The client values tangible outcomes and decisive action, with minimal bureaucracy.
