We are hiring immediately for career changers as Switch Operators (m/f/d) across our locations including Dresden, Großenhain, Hoyerswerda, Riesa, and Senftenberg under DB InfraGO AG.

Training Program Details

• Theoretical instruction takes place at one of our regional training centers, while practical assignments are organized near your residence when possible.
• The full-time retraining spans 39 hours weekly and combines both classroom and hands-on learning segments.
• Training is conducted in groups of 12 participants, equipping you with the essential knowledge for daily duties as a Switch Operator.

Key Responsibilities After Training

• Operate train traffic controls using levers, push buttons, and rotary switches on small to mid-size control panels under the direction of the train dispatcher.
• Responsibility for route verification, track clearance signaling, clearing checks, train observation, and accurate documentation compliant with regulations.
• Communicate and coordinate regularly with colleagues at control centers, train dispatchers, and control stations during work.
• Supervise and regulate railway tracks, including closing tracks during disruptions as part of your vital role.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum of a (qualified) secondary school certificate (Hauptschulabschluss).
• Ability to maintain calm and stay composed during demanding situations.
• Possession of a personal car and willingness to work near your place of residence.
• Strong teamwork skills and a readiness to take on responsibility.
• Flexibility to work shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays while maintaining a good work-life balance.
