Business Systems Analyst

About the Role

The City of Beaverton’s IT Services Department is seeking a Business Systems Analyst to support their Public Works division. This full-time position involves working closely with Public Works staff to enhance their operational efficiency through reliable and user-friendly tools and systems. Initially, the analyst will concentrate on transitioning the Enterprise Asset Management System from Trimble City Works to Trimble Unity, ensuring a seamless changeover. Future responsibilities will involve supporting other city departments and projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze current business workflows and technology systems within Public Works, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvements to optimize enterprise asset management.
• Collaborate with project managers and application teams to plan, test, and update city systems, continually assessing and enhancing process and tool performance.
• Coordinate and support employee training for adopting new business processes and technologies, providing direct assistance to users during transitions.
• Lead small to medium IT implementation projects, organizing meetings, setting timelines, assigning responsibilities, and communicating progress to stakeholders.
• Serve as the technical authority for assigned enterprise applications, advising on best practices and ongoing system optimization.
• Work closely with departmental colleagues to identify system enhancement needs and maintain application functionality.
• Ensure that business process and system modifications comply with city policies and external regulations such as PCI and CJIS standards.
• Foster a positive workplace culture emphasizing inclusion, teamwork, communication, accountability, and respect in a diverse environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, computer technology, or a related discipline.
• At least three years of experience in business systems analysis and project management or an equivalent mix of education and relevant experience.
• Ability to pass background checks including CJIS fingerprinting and pre-employment drug screening.
• CJIS certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Additional Information

The position is designated as exempt and classified at Management 2 (M2) level. It requires in-person attendance, with a potential hybrid schedule (up to three days remote per week) after probationary period completion. The city encourages applications from candidates who may not meet all criteria but can fulfill role objectives.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $6591.92 to $8833.84 monthly. Starting salary depends on experience within the range as per the Oregon Equal Pay Act.
