Role Overview
We are expanding our behaviour support team in Launceston and seek a dedicated Behaviour Support Practitioner to independently manage an NDIS caseload. This role offers flexibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to provide high-quality Positive Behaviour Support tailored to each client.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a personal NDIS caseload delivering person-centred positive behaviour support.
- Conduct behavioural assessments, including functional behaviour assessments.
- Develop and implement tailored behaviour support plans.
- Participate in clinical supervision and multidisciplinary case conferences.
- Engage effectively with clients, their families, carers, and support coordinators.
- Work flexibly across community visits, office settings, and remotely from home.
Expected Contributions
- Support clients in achieving practical and valuable outcomes.
- Develop clear and comprehensive behaviour support plans incorporating restrictive practices where necessary.
- Produce accurate and high-quality documentation and reports in line with NDIS and organisational standards.
- Collaborate closely with families, carers, and other professionals to provide holistic support.
- Commit to ongoing professional development through supervision, training, and reflective practice.
Candidate Profile
- Possess a relevant tertiary qualification (at least bachelor’s level) in Psychology, Social Work, Allied Health, or related discipline.
- Have 2 to 3 years of experience as a Behaviour Support Practitioner or similar role within the NDIS or disability sector.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of Positive Behaviour Support and person-centred methodologies.
- Be skilled in conducting assessments and formulating behaviour support plans.
- Exhibit excellent communication and report writing capabilities.
- Maintain a compassionate, client-oriented mindset and balance independent action with teamwork.
