Role Overview

The Barista position is a full-time role based on-site in Cape Town. Daily duties involve crafting and serving espresso drinks and other beverages, preparing food as per menu specifications, and keeping the workstation and customer areas tidy and orderly. Baristas welcome customers, take their orders, manage payment transactions, and deliver warm, efficient service in line with Bootlegger's brand values. The role includes replenishing stock, following health and safety protocols, and working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure seamless operations. Baristas contribute to the store's vibrant atmosphere, maintaining the signature Bootlegger experience for every visitor.

Qualifications and Skills

• Customer service expertise with strong interpersonal communication for positive guest engagement.
• Proven barista skills, including coffee espresso extraction, milk frothing, and beverage preparation techniques.
• Effective communication to accurately capture orders and coordinate with team members.
• Food preparation experience emphasizing hygiene, quality, and consistency.
• Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced setting with reliable time management, including weekend availability and shift work.
• Basic math skills and familiarity with point-of-sale systems for processing payments.
