Job Overview
This role involves preparing various doughs and batters for baked goods, overseeing kitchen operations, and ensuring high-quality outcomes. Candidates must possess a secondary school graduation certificate and demonstrate nearly one year of relevant experience. Work is strictly on-site at the Victoria, British Columbia location, with no remote possibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Mix and prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls, and sweet items; prepare batters for muffins, cookies, and cakes; and make icings and frostings as per recipes or custom orders.
- Manage procurement by requesting or ordering necessary materials, equipment, and supplies.
- Bake doughs and batters with attention to recipe accuracy.
- Train and guide staff in food preparation, cooking techniques, and proper food handling.
- Handle special orders to meet customer requirements.
- Lead and supervise baking and kitchen personnel, ensuring smooth operations.
- Decorate cakes and other baked goods with frostings and embellishments.
- Monitor that all products adhere to predefined quality standards.
- Inspect the kitchen and food service areas regularly to maintain hygiene and safety.
- Organize inventory management to assure adequate stock levels.
Qualifications and Experience
- Completion of secondary (high) school education.
- Experience range: from 7 months up to less than 1 year in baking or similar roles.
- English language proficiency required.

This is an on-site position with no option for remote work.
