Role Overview
The Associate Manager of Production, based in Nairobi, Kenya, will be accountable for executing production strategies and programs while monitoring quality controls to ensure efficient manufacturing processes that align with market demand and organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate production planning to maximize plant resource efficiency and achieve production objectives.
- Develop annual, monthly, and weekly resource plans involving labor, equipment, and plant capacities based on sales forecasts.
- Manage and refine production workflows to consistently meet production goals.
- Deploy effective production strategies, plans, and control mechanisms.
- Ensure cost-efficient use of machinery, materials, and workforce.
- Uphold Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) standards compliant with organizational policies, ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), and applicable local laws.
- Maintain Quality standards per company guidelines, ISO 9001 (Quality Management System), and local statutory requirements.
- Lead, motivate, and develop production team leaders.
- Regularly update and present key performance indicators for weekly, monthly, and quarterly reviews to site leadership.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Purchasing, Planning, Quality Assurance, Warehouse, HR, and other departments to meet shared objectives.
- Set and pursue discretionary medium-term projects with the Plant Manager aimed at cost reduction.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives within production operations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited university.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience working within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the FMCG sector.
