Associate Director – Mechanical Engineering (Data Centres)

Position Overview

We are seeking an accomplished Associate Director in Mechanical Engineering to contribute to the expansion and technical leadership of a Dublin-based engineering consultancy, focusing on significant data centre and mission-critical infrastructure projects across Europe. This senior role combines technical expertise with leadership, mentoring senior engineers, and fostering high engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Guide delivery of large-scale hyperscale and critical projects in data centre environments.
• Drive the growth and strategic development initiatives of the Dublin office.
• Establish and maintain engineering best practices and technical quality across teams.
• Build and sustain trusted relationships with global clients and internal stakeholders.
• Mentor Principal Engineers and senior team members to enhance technical capabilities.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Extensive experience in data centre and mission-critical mechanical engineering projects.
• Strong foundation in mechanical engineering and building services design.
• Demonstrated technical leadership beyond management, serving as a technical authority.
• Deep understanding of critical cooling systems such as HVAC, chilled water systems, and infrastructure resilience.
• Capability to lead technical discussions with international clients and stakeholders.
• Chartered Engineer status or actively pursuing chartered status is preferred.
