Team Overview
The Transportation team in Bengaluru partners with the parent team in Mooresville to support operational tasks, reporting, and projects related to Freight Pay, System Maintenance, and Exception Management. Their responsibilities include managing purchase orders, carriers, and third-party logistics providers across regional distribution centers, with projects focused on utilization, forecasting, and transportation modeling.
Role Summary
This position is focused on optimizing Lowe’s Transportation Operations by managing daily processes, supporting project execution, and identifying efficiency improvements. The role requires executing and overseeing business-as-usual processes with moderate complexity, driving low-complexity projects under guidance, and collaborating with analysts to enhance operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all Freight Pay activities for both Import and Domestic shipments, ensuring timely and high-quality output while regularly communicating updates to leadership and stakeholders.
- Handle Exception Management tasks essential for smooth Transportation function operations both domestically and internationally.
- Perform System Maintenance duties necessary to support ongoing Transportation functions across Import and Domestic freight.
- Develop and deepen understanding of the Transportation function’s business context and domain knowledge.
- Support Analysts and Senior Analysts in conducting mid-level projects and analyses.
- Maintain transparent communication on operational metrics and uphold accountability for 100% quality and punctuality in deliverables.
- Engage in continual professional development, enhancing technical and functional expertise.
- Participate in initiatives aimed at improving the operational efficiency within the team.
Experience & Qualifications
- 1 to 2 years of overall work experience, including 1-2 years in Supply Chain Management.
- 0-1 year experience in Transportation or Logistics Management is preferred.
- A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Research, or a related discipline is required.
Desired Skill Set
- Strong aptitude for grasping and applying supply chain principles effectively.
- Excellent communication and professional writing capabilities.
- Working knowledge of transportation logistics and operations.
- Solid problem-solving abilities paired with effective time management skills.
- Basic proficiency in Excel and SQL for data handling.
- Ability to identify and independently pursue process improvement opportunities.
- Experience using data mining or visualization tools such as Power BI is advantageous.
- Willingness to contribute to focus group initiatives and action plans.
