Role Overview
As the Assistant Vice President and Payroll Lead, you will be responsible for managing the comprehensive payroll function of the organization, ensuring precise and prompt salary disbursement while maintaining compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements. This role involves continuous process refinement, reporting, stakeholder collaboration, and team leadership to uphold payroll integrity and support organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the complete payroll cycle for employees, guaranteeing timely and accurate payroll runs including final settlements, aligning with payroll calendars and performance indicators.
- Ensure payroll operations comply fully with local, regional, international laws, tax codes, and internal standards, staying updated on legal changes and facilitating timely statutory filings and payments to relevant authorities.
- Analyze payroll data to detect patterns, discrepancies, and improvement potentials; generate and present routine and ad-hoc reports, dashboards, and analytics for HR leadership, Finance, and regulatory needs to aid decision-making.
- Conduct detailed payroll reconciliations between payroll data, bank transactions, and accounting ledgers; resolve anomalies swiftly and thoroughly validate all payroll inputs and outputs including salary adjustments and deductions.
- Collaborate with IT and HR Systems teams to advance payroll automation and system enhancements, including requirements gathering, testing, and supporting data migration; maintain and update payroll procedures to reflect best practices and regulatory compliance.
- Support audit processes by ensuring payroll adherence to internal controls and compliance standards, providing necessary documentation and implementing controls to safeguard data accuracy and minimize risks.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex payroll inquiries from employees, HR Business Partners, Finance, and other stakeholders, resolving issues within service level agreements and promoting cross-functional collaboration.
- Lead and mentor the payroll team, fostering a supportive culture that encourages learning, growth, and continuous operational improvements.
